Privacy Policy
Last updated September 3, 2026
This explains what personal information PizzaBoro collects when you order from pizzaboro.ca, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's federal private-sector privacy law.
Who this applies to
This policy covers pizzaboro.ca and the online ordering system. It applies to anyone who places an order, whether or not they create an account — ordering is guest checkout only, so most of what we collect is tied to a specific order rather than a stored profile.
What we collect
When you place an order, we collect:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Your delivery address, if you order delivery
- What you ordered, any special instructions, and the order total
- Whether your payment succeeded — if you pay online, we never receive or store your card number, expiry date, or security code. Card details go directly to our payment processor, Clover; see Clover's privacy policy. If you choose cash on delivery or pickup instead, no card details are involved at all.
We don't currently use analytics or advertising cookies. Clover may set a small number of cookies of its own while you're on its payment page, to help detect fraudulent transactions.
Why we collect it
We use your information only to:
- Prepare, fulfill, and deliver your order
- Contact you about your order — confirmations, delays, or a problem with an item
- Keep the records Canadian tax law requires us to keep
- Investigate and prevent fraud or abuse of the ordering system
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for marketing unless you separately opt in somewhere that says so.
Who we share it with
Your information is shared only with the services that keep PizzaBoro.ca running:
- Clover (payment processing) — handles your card details directly and tells us only whether the charge succeeded. Not involved at all if you choose cash on delivery or pickup.
- Turso and Vercel (our database and hosting providers) — store and serve the order data described above. Both currently run on infrastructure located in the United States, which means your order information is processed outside Canada and may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access by its authorities.
We don't share your information with anyone else, including for marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as Canadian tax and accounting rules require — generally up to seven years — and delete or anonymize them after that unless we're required to keep them longer for a legal reason.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that's inaccurate or out of date
- Delete information we're not legally required to keep
To do any of this, email privacy@pizzaboro.ca or call (249) 294-0055. We'll respond within 30 days. Note that we can't process an order without the information listed above — withdrawing consent for it means we can't complete that order.
Questions or complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, contact us first at privacy@pizzaboro.ca. If we can't resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
